About Child Support Map

Child Support Map is a free, plain-English guide for parents who need to get, pay, change or collect child support in the United States: how support is figured in each state, how to open a case with the state child support agency, how to ask for a change, how unpaid support is collected and when support ends. Free tools estimate support where a state uses a simple percentage, and write letters and a checklist in your browser.

We are not a law firm, not a child support agency and not a government agency. We don't represent anyone and we never contact agencies, courts or the other parent for you. We link to official sources: state law, state child support agencies, court self-help pages, official forms and federal law.
